I have been thinking of entering an Ami. . .how do you spell this. . .crochetted animal contest on www.etsy.com. However, I'm afraid of signing up, who knows what people will think of my creations! In any case, I have an entry all ready to go. It's a sea slug! I think he's cute. Let me know what you think?

new knitted finished projects
So I must have gone through knitting withdrawl from all the busy-ness over the summer. Now that I feel less stressed, I have made a ridiculous amount of knitted items. I have to show them off.
Second knitted bag: given to An for her birthday.
Third knitted bag: given to Katrina for her birthday.
Knitted blanket for Tim made out of wool and alpaca yarn.
I made a couple scarves along the way. And finally:
My new knitted octopus! OK, so the real reason I posted was to show off my knitted octopus. . .isn't it great! so, yeah, over, and out!

time to update
week of Sept.26, didn't do much. I went to the ranch 99 with Tim's little brother, and on the way we had an adventure driving around. For lunch we had a great pizza at Cheeseboard, got lost, and then drove down a cool street in North Berkeley, to finally find our way. However, driving down that street (which reminded me of home) made me want to take public trasportation over the weekend. Why? Well, because: 1. I wanted to learn how to use the buses, 2. I didn't want to use my car and lose my spot during the Saturday game, and 3. I wanted to go to . . .the yarn store. So, I learned how to use public transportation, and look what it led me to do! This is the bag not finished, . . . and finished.
Total it took me 6-7 hours to knit and 1.5 to do the finishing. WARNING, I know I hate the lack of surprise for Christmas presents, but you may all be getting one of these for Christmas, because I think they are super cute! GIVE ME COLOR PREFERENCES!!! Two colors of any shade you can think of will suffice! :)
I also discovered that I can take a bus almost directly from that yarn store (Stash) in that cool Berkeley neighborhood, to an equally cool yarn store (Article Pract) in a not so nice Oakland neighborhood. The things you learn taking public transit!

What was I doing about 6 months ago? I was knitting up a storm. At the time I really didn't have that big of a job at work. Only doing about 10 hours a week teching for Bio44. This is a scarf with yarn from NYC. I had just gotten back from a trip to NJ/NYC to visit Nicole at Princeton and got this really pretty yarn there! So pretty I had to take a picture.

Mid-March ...crafty!
So this month has been a pretty crafty one! :)
I made a sailcar.
I finished a scarf that I had started last year!
I made myself a St.-Patrick's-day-life-saving necklace (because it was the only green I was wearing).
AND, I finally made another nudibranch (sea slug). Her name is Rosie. Now Lemon Drop (my yellow one) has a friend!
